    Our recent adventures in Flex/Flash land have required us to have our Flash and Flex components to talk to each other. Here are some ways in which you can get Flash and Flex to pass data from one to the other.

    We’ve a lot of experiences now with Web 2.0 technologies based on AJAX and JSF. Although, we hold pretty modern, almost standards-based stuff in our hands the maintenance hell for the markup-based presentation layer is pretty lively. Flex on Spring is the logical next step. Adobe delivers everything as Open Source to start Web 3.0.

I’m writing this article, because even me that check everyday lots of posts and articles in the Internet, start to be lost in the middle of lot’s of information and new resources available. So, i decide to make a list with all the available 3D tools for Flash. If I’ve missed some of them, i would be glad to add them to this list, just drop me a comment.

    Fast, out-of-the-box 3D on the web remains an elusive dream. Theatre Magique has an informative review of the most active 3D flash libraries (e.g. Papervision). He notes that while the applications are promising, the performance is still lacking, and that the much publicized 3D capability in Flash 10 (the next version currently in Beta) doesn’t really help.

    <link>http://web2announcer.com/go/2647928</link>
    <author>unknown@DZone.com</author>

    Flash performance and usage is abysmal on current mobile devices that support playback. Mobile device processors — including the iPhone’s — simply aren’t fast enough to handle most Flash-laden sites. Flash Lite, the scaled down standard designed specifically for mobile devices, is even too much for most devices, and isn’t widely used.&amp;#xD;
Jens Chr Brynildsen, a Flash expert who maintains a number resources for the standard including Flash Magazine, told us that the iPhone’s processor — a 600+ MHz ARM processor that actually runs at 412MHz — simply won’t pass muster.

    Last week I spent a few hours with Dick Wall of the Java Posse working on an application which combines Google App Engine, Adobe AIR, and Flex. This was a fun experiment that turned into a pretty cool application. The application, named QuickFix, sends an image to Google App Engine which does an “I’m Feeling Lucky” transformation on the image and sends it back.

    Yesterday we pointed out an image on Apple’s Web site that is indicative of an iPhone 3G displaying Adobe Flash content, but may have simply been a case of the company’s graphic design team cropping a Desktop browser image to fit the device’s screen. We’ve now discovered another bit of evidence that, albeit similarly speculative, would seem to show an iPhone 3G making use of Flash.
